Data Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of data collected by this app. We only have access to/collect data that you voluntarily provide upon downloading the app. We will not sell or rent data we've collected to anyone.

Data collected by uWx includes the following:

   • Location Information (Latitude,Longitude).

   • Sensor Data (Pressure, Illuminance, Significant Motion).

We use your pressure observations to improve weather forecasts by assimilating (blending) your observations with forecasts produced by numerical models. We will not share your data with any third parties outside of our organization (University of Washington) and our sponsors (IBM, The Weather Company).

Your Access to and Control Over Information
You may opt out of data collection at any time by going to the uWx settings page and unchecking the collect pressure data option.
If you have any concerns about data collected from your device please email the app developer at cmcnich@uw.edu.

Security
We take precautions to protect your data. Your data is protected through encryption and authenticated using the OAuth2 framework.

All data collected from your device is transmitted using modern cryptography (over HTTPS). You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon left of your web browser's address bar, or by looking for "https" at the beginning of the web page address.

Updates

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time and all updates will be posted on this page.
